Practice IELTS Speaking

Sit a full speaking test in the examiner's format and find out which of the four criteria is holding your band back.

Your mic turns on when you start.

What you'll practice

The three parts of the IELTS Speaking test in order: Part 1 questions on familiar topics, a Part 2 cue card with one minute to prepare and up to two minutes to speak, and a Part 3 discussion.

  • Extend answers naturally without memorized scripts
  • Speak for the full Part 2 long turn
  • Develop and justify opinions in Part 3

What Co-Star evaluates

  • Fluency and coherence
  • Lexical resource and grammatical range and accuracy
  • Pronunciation as it affects clarity

Review focus: Review against fluency, vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation; quote the part that most limited the answer. Give no official band score.

Who Co-Star plays

A neutral IELTS-style examiner who follows the test script: introduces each part, asks questions without giving feedback, times the Part 2 long turn, and never breaks format.

How it starts

The examiner introduces themselves, asks your name and starts Part 1 with where you live. As in the real test, they give no feedback between questions.

What you'll leave with

  • Knowing which criterion is weakest
  • A Part 2 structure that fills two minutes
